I have some very exciting news to share today. I have finally decided to move my blog to my own domain and I will now be blogging at paintedfingertips.com! I am in the process of migrating followers to the new blog so if you are a follower, hopefully you won’t need to do anything. I will still be regularly posting so if you don’t receive a new post within the next day or so, please come and visit the new page and subscribe there!
For those of you who don’t subscribe but come visit the blog, remember for the future to visit on paintedfingertips.com. I have given the blog a whole new look which should make it easier for you to comment and navigate. See you there!
I have something extra special to share with you today. Glitter placement is nothing new, but it’s the first time I’ve tried something quite like this. I have done glitter placement before, but with much larger glitters. I have a set of various glitters I bought ages ago from Bundle Monster. When I was looking for a specific one the other day, I happened to notice the set included some opalescent hexagonal glitters… and I knew I had to do a glitter placement look. Continue reading →
Today I have a swatch to share with you. A reader requested to see this polish after looking at my stash page, so if you see anything on there you’d like to see swatched or know more about, please let me know! Continue reading →
Today I have something a little different for you. It’s a review, and it’s nail polish strips. A few months ago I was lucky to receive a lovely prize package from Break Rules Not Nails, and one of the items included was a box of nail polish strips. I liked the look of the pattern, but since I like to paint my nails often I knew it might be a while before I got to trying them. The perfect opportunity came in December when I went away for a week. I wasn’t taking any polish with me so it was the perfect time to use the strips, and to give them a proper wear test. Continue reading →
A while ago I was itching for some very delicate nails and so I decided to combine a lovely, delicate colour with some freehand art. My idea was to combine Sinful Colors Glass Pinkwith some stamping from an Essence stamping plate to create a lovely soft look which I also thought would be appropriate for a bridal look. Unfortunately, the stamping plate just wouldn’t play. I’m not sure what went wrong as I got my first two nails stamped ok but after that I just couldn’t get it right! No matter what I did I couldn’t get the image to transfer properly until I eventually gave up in frustration. Not for long though! The next day I decided to show that plate who was boss by creating the exact same look freehand!🙂Continue reading →
You might remember how excited I was a couple of weeks ago to find out how well the Tip Top neons marbled. I was determined to try them again and today I have. I actually didn’t use the same polishes as last time, but used a different bright pink and purple from Tip Top to see if they would work as well. Continue reading →
Today I have some Sinful Colors polishes to share with you. Before we start though, I wanted to show you the new Stash page I have created. It’s been there for a few days already, but since it’s pretty unobtrusive you probably haven’t noticed. Just click the ‘My Stash’ link at the top of the page, right under the header picture and you’ll come to a list of all the polishes I own. I have linked to swatches where I could. If you see anything on the list you’d like to see swatched or know more about, let me know!
Back to today’s polishes – I grouped these three together as they all have a similar finish, but as far as I can tell they weren’t all part of one collection. Let’s start off with my favourite of the three:Continue reading →
By now you might have seen some nail art looks done using nail vinyls. They have become pretty popular for nail art over the past few months as a way to create patterns and do fun and easy nail art. When Loki’s Nail Vinyls asked me to review their product, I jumped at the chance. There are a few different nail vinyl brands out there already, but these are the first I have had the opportunity to try. Continue reading →
Today I have some super simple nails to share with you. These nails were originally meant as the base for some stamping, but my stamping was just a disaster. I have been struggling with stamping lately and on this day it just wouldn’t work for me. Luckily I took pictures before I started stamping and the base still makes for a very pretty manicure.
